Harvest Update

What's in Season in November

Published: · 4 min read ·

A product-by-product look at which fruit, vegetable, and citrus varieties reach their busiest harvest, continue, start, or close in Turkey in November.

November is the month in Turkey's harvest calendar when citrus takes the stage in full: the main mandarin varieties reach their highest volume, the navel varieties of orange enter the season, and grapefruit delivers its first lots; pomegranate, apple, quince, kiwi, and persimmon continue their autumn harvest, while the last representatives of the summer products close their season. Below is a product-by-product assessment of what is at its busiest, what is still in supply, what is starting, and what is closing, drawn from our own variety-level Seasonal Calendar — see our October harvest guide for last month's table, or our seasonal product guide for the general logic of how a season opens, peaks, and closes.

The citrus season reaches its widest point

In mandarin, Satsuma, Dobashi Beni, and Clementine enter their busiest period in November, while Nova begins its harvest this month and comes online directly at the highest volume and Fremont also joins during the month; Okitsu, Primasol, and Robinson close their seasons. The crop outlook for this year and the variety calendar are in our 2026-27 mandarin season update, and the place of the early varieties in exports is covered in our Satsuma mandarin guide.

In orange, the early navel varieties Navelina and Fukumoto are at their busiest in November; Washington Navel, the main variety of the season, together with Cara Cara and the geographically indicated Finike selection, begins its harvest this month and becomes busiest in December — details on production, markets, and quality are in our orange export guide. In lemon, the winter variety Lamas and Kütdiken, the most widely grown variety in Turkey, begin their harvest, Eureka and Lime continue to be supplied, and Interdonato closes its season; the year-round calendar is in our lemon guide. In grapefruit, the red-fleshed Star Ruby, Henderson, and Flame deliver their first lots in November — details on the varieties and the market are in our grapefruit export guide, and a comparison of all citrus varieties is in our citrus variety guide.

Autumn fruit at full volume

In pomegranate, Hicaznar, the main harvest variety, together with Wonderful, Beynarı, Fellahyemez, Katırbaşı, and Lefan, is at its busiest in November — the full picture is in our pomegranate variety guide. Winter vegetables come online

In lettuce, Batavia (Yağlı) lettuce and in spinach, Curly-Leaf Spinach come online this month, while Iceberg, Curly lettuce, Flat-Leaf spinach, and Baby spinach continue to be supplied — we cover all of them in our leafy and flower vegetables guide. In carrot, the Nantes type and the Beypazarı carrot are in their busiest period, and dry onion and potato continue regular shipments from storage (our carrot, dry onion, and potato guides).

In tomato, Truss Tomato reaches its busiest period in November, while Cherry, Pink, and Beef tomatoes continue to be supplied (our tomato export guide); all pepper varieties, cucumber, eggplant, zucchini, and garlic also continue to be supplied. Among the summer and autumn products, Crimson (Seedless) in grape, Angeleno in plum, and Kırkağaç (Altınbaş) in melon ship their final lots.

With citrus, autumn fruit, and winter vegetables overlapping in the same weeks, November is one of the months in which the cold chain and product-specific transport temperatures matter most; you can find how we keep quality consistent from harvest to shipment in our cold chain guide, and product-specific temperatures in our transport temperature guide.
